Trauma response Services Certificate in progress, George Fox University

Kristen recently joined the UCSB community and provides direct services to survivors of interpersonal violence. She identifies as a survivor as well, and knows firsthand how difficult navigating processes can be. It’s important to Kristen to provide a space where survivors of all identities can share their experiences and receive the individualized care and support that they deserve.

Kristen has extensive experience working with survivors and providing sexual violence prevention and education to campus communities. She is passionate about policy development and system wide changes to improve survivor experiences. In her current certificate program, Kristen is researching how trauma affects the body, as well as how treating clients can affect therapists and advocates

What Kristen likes to do outside of her work at CARE: "I enjoy spending time on the beach, cooking, caring for my houseplants, and snuggling with my cat Sally!"
