Monique is our new Prevention Education Coordinator here at CARE. She helps to facilitate educational workshops of bystander intervention, healthy relationships, and consent. She would like to channel her passion through her role at CARE by advocating, supporting and providing resources for survivors and their significant others. She also wants to encourage and empower our campus and surrounding community to take part in bystander intervention as she believes that ending violence cannot be a one person feat. She is a UCSB Alumna and former EOP student.
Prior to working at CARE, Monique was a hotline assistant at a local organization called Standing Together to End Sexual Assault. She also spent some time studying abroad in Bangkok, Thailand where she was an intern at the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand. These roles have allowed her to pair and expand upon her interests in prevention education and advocacy.
What Monique likes to do outside of her work at CARE: "I like to take walk s and play with my golden-doodle, Luna. I enjoy cooking, playing Spyro, Animal Crossing, and Among Us on the Nintendo Switch, and weight lifting."
