Briana joined CARE in 2014, and has served in the roles of CARE Advocate, Assistant Director, and now Director. Briana provides leadership and oversight of CARE and maintains collaborations on campus and within the Santa Barbara community as well as ensuring that UCSB provides survivors with comprehensive trauma-informed service and prevention education that is innovative and effective. Briana has a great passion for ending violence in our community and has worked for survivors for over ten years at both the community rape crisis model, within the criminal justice system, and among state-wide coalition. In 2013, Briana was inspired by student-led activism occurring across the country and was inspired to bring her work to higher education. Briana has worked at the campus and UC system level to affect change in processes that survivors choose to navigate.

What Briana likes to do outside of her work at CARE: "I enjoy being a social butterfly whenever I can, I also love to read, watch reality television, and take on new challenges, like learning to snowboard."
