When help is needed for personal concerns, CAPS is a resource for learning new skills in building self confidence, relating to others, reducing stress, solving problems, and identifying options. CAPS offers individual counseling, group counseling, consultation, & outreach to the campus community.
All registered UCSB students are eligible for services and services are covered by your student fees. CAPS offers several services for students including therapy focused on healing utilizing different modalities as well as healing groups. Some healing groups include Healing After Sexual Assault, Healing After Childhood Abuse, Support after Intimate Partner Abuse, Yoga as Healing, Healing with Yoga and Sound and Men's Survivor group. CAPS also houses the Mental Health Peers program which is composed of student peers who are trained to help their UCSB peers to develop tools to better manage stressors related to school as well as relationships to family, friends, romantic partners, and roommates. Peers can also help you get connected to other appropriate resources around campus.
