Alcohol and Drug Program

UCSB’s Alcohol & Drug Program uses a comprehensive research-based approach to prevention on campus and in the surrounding community. UCSB’s efforts to reduce high-risk drinking and drug use among students include strategies such as education, early intervention and referral, changes to the environment on campus and in Isla Vista, and strict policies and enforcement. The Alcohol & Drug Program works in partnership with many campus departments, students, and the community to promote a healthy and safe campus environment.

Guardian Scholars

The UC Santa Barbara Guardian Scholars Program supports the academic and personal success of students who have been part of the foster care system. Program services include academic support, enrichment services, student advocacy, career guidance, peer networking, housing assistance and financial aid advising.

Undocumented Student Services

At UC Santa Barbara, Undocumented Student Services (USS) is committed to fostering a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for prospective and current undocumented students, students with mixed-immigration status families, and students from refugee backgrounds. USS practices a solution-focused, intercultural, intersectional, and social justice approach that provides personalized support, programs, services, and resources. USS offers general counseling, programming, legal services, support groups such as Empowerment Circle, UndocuQueer, and UndocuTrans.

Disabled Student Program

Each year temporarily and permanently disabled students attend classes at the University of California, Santa Barbara. They are attracted by the university's academic reputation, moderate weather conditions, and excellent physical accessibility offered here. The lay of the land is flat and free from environmental barriers and most physical structures are accessible. In addition, the UCSB campus provides excellent barrier free, modified, residential facilities to those students seeking to live on campus.

Educational Opportunity Program

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is committed to providing a support and information base that validates each student's experience and nurtures a sense of participation, belonging and empowerment. Through mentorship, academic programs, one-to-one counseling/advising, campus student support service referrals and social/cultural programming, we strive to maximize a student's involvement and success in the campus academic community.

Health and Wellness

The Department of Health & Wellness supports the flourishing of students as they navigate the University experience for academic success and a fulfilling life. Some of their popular events include Pet Therapy Week and weekly meditation sessions. In addition to these events, Health and Wellness oversees the Body Project, Wellness Wednesdays, UCSB Cooks, and many more opportunities to engage in health lifestyle learning.

Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD)

The Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD) at UC Santa Barbara facilitates the intersectional inclusion and representation of the identities, experiences, and concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members. RCSGD staff and volunteers, in collaboration with campus partners, promote the celebration, development, scholarship, and success of the LGBTQIA+ community through advocacy, education, programming, and resource creation and referral.

Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) is committed to providing timely, effective, and culturally-appropriate mental health services to our diverse UCSB student body, as well as consultations to faculty, staff, and families. When help is needed for personal concerns, CAPS is a resource for learning new skills in building self confidence, relating to others, reducing stress, solving problems, and identifying options. CAPS offers individual counseling, group counseling, consultation, & outreach to the campus community.
